October Newsletter With Celebration

Hello, dear readers
ian two awardsI’ve got a few updates for you. Firstly, Swearing Allegiance has just won the 2017 Outstanding Historical Book of The Year at the IAN Awards! I’m delighted and surprised as I won the same title last year with The Guardian of Secrets…big celebration tomorrow!
Secondly, I’ve booked my flights to the big USA in November for the 2017 Readers’ Favorite Awards and Miami International Book Fair. I’ll post photos when I get back. I’m looking forward to meeting other authors, and to be honest, eating hot and spicy buffalo wings and red velvet cake.
Thirdly, my new project, The German Half Bloods, continues to grow into a substantial size, and at 100,000 words is still in 1940, oh dear. I’ll admit, my decision to make this WW2 story a stand alone book has given me headaches, not because I’m struggling to write it but because my characters seem to taking paths I didn’t anticipate – in fact, I’ve had to delete a character and may use her now in another book because her personal story became too big! It happens. The good news is that I should still be able to publish early 2018, and I’m very pleased with it so far .
On a final note in this mishmash newsletter, I will be writing the sequel to Swearing Allegiance next year due to my dear readers who have written to me asking when the bleedin’ sequel is coming. Sorry it’s taken so long, I got carried away with the Flock Trilogy, which was supposed to be one book, not three.
Take care, dear readers, until next time xxx
